Start after essential spending
Housing, food, bills, debt payments, savings and emergency funds come first. If losing the proposed amount would change any of them, the affordable gambling budget is zero.
Limit time as well as money
Set a session length and frequency because rapid rounds can create substantial turnover within a modest loss cap. Use an external timer and take breaks away from the screen.
Never chase the ledger
A loss is not a debt owed by the next round, and a win is not proof of an edge. Stop at the stated boundary and seek support if repeated exceptions become normal.
